Hastelloy alloys are designed for use in a variety of aggressive media. These C22 grades have excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion cracking mainly for harsh chemicals like chlorides, sulfides, and other harsh chemicals. Due to their excellent weldability, Hastelloy C22 Sheet & Plates can be joined with common filler welds. They are virtually immune to SCC stress corrosion cracking. It is not only good thermal stability but also good workability against corrosive environments. The offered products come in tempered and quenched conditions, with tolerances and machining alloys.

Nickel steel alloys are famous for their exceptional resistance to a wide range of oxidising aqueous media, including chemicals that contain chlorine ions, mixtures of nitric acid and water, as well as wet chlorine solutions.

This standard relates to Hastelloy C22 plate, sheet, and strips that are made from nickel-based alloys such as nickel, chromium, and molybdenum, all of which can be found in the Haynes Alloy C22 Shim Stock, which besides being a low carbon metal, contains elements such as nickel, chromium, and molybdenum.

Hastelloy C22 Grade Strip Tape must meet both chemical and mechanical specifications as specified in ASTM B575. As an example, ASTM B575 specifications are required for mechanical properties of the 2.4602 Hastelloy C22 Sheet, which includes properties such as tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and Rockwell hardness.

Alloy C22 plates consist of tungsten, chrome, molybdenum, and iron, which makes the alloy corrosion resistant in both running and stagnant water. There are several grades of Hastelloy Alloy C22 sheets, plates, and coils that offer high performance, corrosion resistance, and high temperature grades.   •  The cold-rolled steel often has a greater rigidity and strength than hot-rolled steel, which makes it a good choice for using cold-rolled steel in applications which require a high amount of stress, such as wind turbines, and other applications.
  • The cold rolled steel won't shrink when it is formed, which means you can use it to make more precise components with perfect shapes and regular dimensions due to its non-shrinking nature during the forming process.

What is Hastelloy used for?

The excellent corrosion resistance of Hastelloy makes it an excellent choice for moderately to severely corrosive environments where product life is important as a result of its outstanding corrosion resistance.As In addition to being commonly used for the manufacture of pipes and valves in the chemical, petrochemical, and nuclear industries, it is also used commonly for the manufacture of reactor vessels as well.

 There are several Hastelloy grades available, but among them the C276 is one of the most widely used grades. It has a protective coating that allows it to be used in harsh environments such as those mentioned above, as well as in the production of paper, pulp, and waste management products.
