DETAILED INFORMATION

With its unique chemical composition, Incoloy 825 Sheets & Plates provide excellent corrosion resistance. They are designed for applications in extremely harsh environments. Incoloy 825 Sheets & Plates are highly regarded in the market due to the high strength of copper-molybdenum, which makes them ideal for heavy-duty applications, such as a saline environment, nuclear plants, exhaust systems, radioactive waste handling, etc. It is resistant to phosphoric and sulfuric acid solutions, pitting, intergranular corrosion, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Incoloy 825 Sheets & Plates are not recommended for use in media that require excellent creep-rupture properties.

A nickel-iron-chromium austenitic alloy with molybdenum, copper, and titanium, Incoloy 825 is renowned for its exceptional resistance to oxidizing and reducing environments. Incoloy 825 Plate also resists corrosion cracking and pitting due to chloride stress corrosion. As a result of the presence of titanium, the alloy is quite resistant to sensitization. When the alloy is exposed to a temperature range that would sensitize unstable stainless steel, the Incoloy 825 products show excellent resistance to intergranular attacks when getting exposed there. There are some standard procedures for welding the Incoloy 825 plate since it is a nickel-based alloy that is readily formidable and weldable. 

Inconel 825 plate has excellent mechanical properties at cryogenic temperatures as well as moderately high temperatures. Nevertheless, when the material is exposed to temperatures above 540 degrees Celsius, its microstructure can change, resulting in reduced ductility and impact strength. Cold work can, however, significantly improve the ductility and impact strength of Alloy 825 sheets. They have good impact resistance at room temperature and can retain that strength at cryogenic temperatures as well.

In addition to Inconel 825 round bar, which can also be referred to as UNS N08825/W.Nr. 2.4858, like the Inconel family of alloys, is an alloy based on nickel.  There are several elements that contribute to the Alloy UNS N08825 Spring Steel Bar, in addition to its primary nickel, iron, and chromium bases, such as molybdenum, copper, and titanium.

With the addition of these materials, the properties of the Incoloy UNS No 8825 Hot Rolled Bar have been enhanced to a certain extent as a result of the addition of these materials. As an example, the level of nickel which contributes to the resistance to chloride ion stress-related corrosion cracking in Incoloy 8825 Polished Bar is sufficient for it to be resistant to corrosion cracking due to chloride ion stress.

There is a high concentration of chromium in Alloy 825 Inconel Round Rod, which confers resistance to a wide range of oxidizing chemicals and salts and compounds, including nitric acid, nitrates, and oxidizing salts. It is important to mention that the addition of titanium in Incoloy 825 Din 2.4858 Cold Drawn Bar contributes to the strength of the alloy, along with appropriate heat treatment. By adding titanium to this heat treatment, the Alloy 825 Nickel Bright Bar is further stabilized against intergranular corrosion sensitization as a result of the heat treatment.

With the ability to withstand general and localized corrosion under a wide range of conditions, Incoloy 825 Nickel Alloy Square Bar can be used in a wide range of applications.           There is no doubt that Incoloy 825 has outstanding Corrosion Resistance

          When used under reducing and oxidizing conditions, Incoloy 825 resists general corrosion, pitting and crevice corrosion, intergranular corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. In addition to sulphuric and phosphoric acids, it is also useful for flue gases containing sulfur, sour gas, oil wells, and seawater.

          Fabrication

          Although stainless steel is easiest to cold form, Incoloy 825 can also be hot-worked. For hot processing, the temperature range should be between 870 - 1180°C, for cold processing, it should be between 870 - 980°C. For maximum corrosion resistance, the alloy can be cold-formed more easily than stainless steel.

          Machinability

          Machineability is reasonably good for Incoloy 825, which is classed as a 'C' alloy.

          Welding

          For welding alloys, GMAW (MIG), GTAW (tig), SMAW (manual), and SAW are commonly used techniques. The joint must be clean to avoid contamination of the weld pool.
