DETAILED INFORMATION

Marine conditions are well tolerated by S32760 Steel Products for offshore and onshore industries. In addition to its corrosion resistance, Werkstoff UNS S32760 is also capable of demonstrating greater stress corrosion cracking resistance in both seawater and outside seawater. Under certain temperatures, the low thermal expansion rates and corrosion resistance make this possible. In addition to its high tensile strength, UNS S32760 Zeron 100 pressure vessel material is resistant to high wear and tear inside hydraulic systems and vessels.

Under casting temperatures, UNS S32760 F55 casting material can also retain mold precision even while shaping the mold due to its low thermal expansion rates. Automotive applications use the S32760 Duplex spring material because of its high tensile strength. With its high tensile strength, Super Duplex UNS S32760 construction materials can be very effective where strength is important, for example in bridge construction. Angles made of Super Duplex Grade S32760 material sit tightly and are strong. If other super duplex steels are not required for the application, Super Duplex Stainless Steel S32760 can also be used in place of other super duplex steels. The connecting components can also be firmly connected on top of it.

As one of the most common super duplex grades, UNS S32760 has additional W and Cu than UNS S32750 and is specifically designed for use in chloride-containing environments. In addition to its high mechanical strength, it has very good resistance to localized corrosion and stress corrosion cracking.

In spite of its slightly different chemical composition, UNS S32760 is similar to UNS 32750. In 32760, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, molybdenum, and nitrogen are lower, while silicon and copper are higher. In some cases, however, both grades contain the same amount of carbon, chromium, and nickel, which makes them interchangeable.

Since they drive up the material's base cost, UNS S32760 can compete well with 6% molybdenum “super austenitic” grades in some applications due to its lower levels of Mo and Ni. While 32760 contains less Cr, Ni, and Mo than the “6% Moly” grades, it contains more Cr, Ni, and Mo compared to other alloys, making it more corrosion-resistant between grains and pits. Through an interstitial solid solution mechanism, nitrogen increases yield strength and ultimate strength without affecting toughness by hardening structural materials. A two-phase "duplex" microstructure is more resistant to pitting, stress corrosion cracking, corrosion fatigue, crevice corrosion, and corrosion fatigue than conventional stainless steel.

With a two-phase microstructure of ferrite and austenite in approximately equal proportions, Duplex steel S32760 sheets have the optimum properties. A 50 / 50 ratio of ferrite to austenite gives this alloy its optimum properties. As of right now, S32760 sheets are the most widely used variants and are distinguished by outstanding application properties and availability.

As a result of their lower nickel and molybdenum content, materials are more economically attractive and have better resilience, reliability, and workability than lower alloy austenitic or carbon steels. Compared to austenitic stainless steels, Alloy S32760 plates contain less nickel (approximately 4 to 8%), making them very economical.

GENERAL PROPERTIES

The UNS S32760 super duplex grade is among the most commonly available. As opposed to UNS S32750, UNS S32760 contains extra W and Cu, a duplex stainless steel specifically designed for service in aggressive chloride-containing environments. As well as high mechanical strength, it is highly resistant to localized corrosion and stress corrosion cracking.

RESISTANCE TO CORROSION

Corrosion resistance and strength properties of alloy S32760 are excellent. In comparison with UNS S32205, SUS 329J3L, and SUS 329J4L (NAS 64), it offers superior localized corrosion resistance, making it ideal for use in chemical plants, seawater desalination plants, and similar environments.

WELDING

Shielded metal arc welding, TIG welding, and plasma welding are all suitable welding methods for austenitic stainless steel. In welding, it is recommended to use welding electrodes that are suitable for UNS S32760. Preheating and post-heating are not necessary. To prevent the formation of intermetallic compounds, the interpass temperature should not exceed 100°C.

HEAT TREATMENT

Heat treatment cannot harden duplex stainless steels. They can however be worked hardened. After heating to around 1100°C, they can be annealed or solution treated.
